Coding integration into High School Physics & Physical Science using STEMcoding Project Resources

Syllabus

The goal of this course is to show absolute-beginner-programming-level teachers how computer programming exercises can be integrated into high school physical science or high school physics (non-AP or AP) in a simple, fun and engaging way that strongly aligns with traditional learning goals. The STEMcoding project (http://youtube.com/STEMcoding) is led by Ohio State University physics professor Chris Orban and the course covers a set of javascript based activities that were developed with significant teacher feedback. Many thousands of high school and early college students have used and completed these activities since the STEMcoding project launched in 2017. We will also go over the STEMcoding Object Tracker which is a browser based (and chromebook compatible!) tool for analyzing video data and helping students develop spreadsheet and data science skills.
