DESCRIPTION

A week-long workshop to grow and sustain a network of experienced computational physics educators who will develop, refine, implement, and advocate for computational teaching and learning methods in physics. We will engage in developing diverse instructional designs, course materials, evidence-based pedagogies, and assessment strategies that will help coherently achieve a wide variety of computational physics learning goals.

Invited participants can guarantee their spot at the institute if they register and pay by April 15. After April 15, we will accept registration on a rolling basis until all participant spots are full. The registration rate is $350.

Travel, Room, and Board Information

If you are driving, please arrive between 2-4 pm. If that is not possible, please contact Marie Lopez del Puerto, [email protected]. 

If flying, please plan on arriving at Minneapolis/St. Paul international airport by 3pm on Monday June 22. There will be shuttles to UWRF from the airport on Monday and from UWRF to the airport on Friday afternoon. Please plan on departing flights after 4pm on Friday June 26. We will collect flight information in early June.

Note that you cannot check in to UWRF early or check out late. If you are arriving before Monday or staying past Friday, please arrange your own accommodations.

We will be staying in dorm rooms with shared bathrooms. Please note that non-participants and children are not allowed in the dorms - if you will be traveling with others, please make your own off-campus arrangements. We suggest the Best Western Plus Campus Inn in River Falls, WI.

We will have all of our meals at Riverside Commons at UW-RF. They  accommodate most dietary restrictions. More information can be found at this link: https://dineoncampus.com/riverfalls/avoiding-allergens
